In the Wilderness

“For the LORD your God has blessed you in all that you have done; He has known your wanderings through this great wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have not lacked a thing.” Deuteronomy 2:7

The Scripture above was a statement Moses made to the Israelites as they were preparing to begin their journey into the promise land. They had been wandering in the great wilderness for 40 years and now they were having to prepare to go to battle to enter into the land God promised them.

In this verse, here are some points that God reminds us of:

  1. God is aware of our times in the wilderness. Nothing is a surprise to our heavenly Father.

  2. Even in our wilderness times, He can still bless us.The Israelites lacked nothing during their 40 years in the wilderness..

  3. In the wilderness He is with us, even if we do not feel Him or see Him, He is there.

If you read further along in Deuteronomy, God commanded His children to take possession of the lands going to the promise land, and He told them He would deliver them.

As God’s children, if you are in a wilderness of anxiety or a broken marriage, a wilderness of hopelessness, or uncertainty; remember that our heavenly Father is with you. He will be with you in every battle and He will deliver you. Is it going to be a walk in the park? Probably not, you may have to face battles. The God in Deuteronomy is the same God we serve today. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He does not change. Our circumstances may change, but He does not. He is still constant, strong and wise. Whatever your battle or battles are, our Heavenly Father will help you and His desire is to deliver you. Do not be discouraged, do not give up.

Remember, “Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

Till next time,

Monica
